easyJet, the UK's largest airline, has appointed Sophie Dekkers as its new Director, UK Market. Sophie has commenced the new role this month and will be responsible for driving the airline's commercial success and strategic direction in the UK. She will be working closing with the teams across the airline's eleven bases in the UK and will report into Group Commercial Director, Cath Lynn.

Sophie has been with easyJet since 2007 in a variety of roles working as a UK commercial manager, providing customer insight and more recently driving the airline's business traveller strategy. Sophie takes over from Paul Simmons who left easyJet last year.

The UK remains easyJet's largest market with more than 100 planes based across 11 bases serving the UK.
