Hugh Aitken, easyJet’s UK Commercial Manager, comments:

""Basing an additional aircraft in Southend is testament to the airport’s success since we launched flights there this March and demonstrates our commitment to growing our presence there. Recent customer satisfaction research with our passengers has borne out what we had believed would make the airport a popular choice.  88% say they are happy with their experience – its fast and convenient transport links and easy, quick transfer through the airport has made it a firm favorite with our passengers.

""easyJet is committed to making travel easy and affordable for all and I’m sure these two new city  destinations are going to be a huge hit with holidaymakers as well as helping to serve demand from passengers travelling on business.""

London Southend Airport Managing Director Alastair Welch added:

""We are delighted that easyJet has chosen to base another aircraft with us here at London Southend, which is evidence of their commitment to the airport and the success of our partnership.  I am sure these new routes to Poland and Germany will be extremely popular locally, and will also solidify our position as an airport UK bound visitors are increasingly choosing as their gateway to London.

""Following our exceptional customer experience reviews over the summer months we look forward to welcoming even more passengers to enjoy the very different airport experience we have to offer here at London Southend. We will also see increased availability on our existing destinations. Following our decision to extend the passenger terminal, we will be well placed to maintain our high standards of customer service as we head towards our target of two million passengers each year by 2020.""
