easyJet’s inaugural flight arrived in Liverpool at 12:15pm - carrying the first of thousands of expected visitors travelling to and from the region with easyJet this summer.
This is the second route easyJet has introduced at Newquay Cornwall Airport; just two weeks ago it launched flights to London Southend providing quick access into the capital.
Ali Gayward, Commercial Manager for easyJet, said:
“Today marks our first flight to Liverpool John Lennon Airport from Newquay Cornwall Airport. It’s an exciting next step for easyJet and it’s fantastic for us to be able to add another UK destination in quick succession after the launch of services to London Southend Airport.
“I hope Liverpool will prove popular with residents in the South West looking for a gateway to the North of England and for travellers looking for an easy and affordable city break. Both the London and Liverpool flights to Newquay will go a long way in boosting tourism and I’m sure they will perform well.”
Al Titterington, Managing Director of Newquay Cornwall Airport, added:
“We’re pleased to welcome the very first passengers from Liverpool to Cornwall today. Both Liverpool and London Southend are brand new destinations and will appeal to both business and leisure passengers. The service also offers more efficient access to visitors coming to Cornwall by removing long and cumbersome journey times by road or rail.”
