easyJet has announced it is supporting Make-A-Wish International, the world’s leading wish-granting organisation, to grant the travel wishes of children suffering with critical illness across Europe.

Every 25 seconds, a family hears the devastating news that their child is diagnosed with a critical condition, turning their lives upside down. Make-A-Wish aims to revive childhoods stolen by illness and bring hope to children and their loved ones.

With the new partnership, the airline and Make-A-Wish will turn dreams into unforgettable experiences by bringing the joy of travel to children and their families across Europe, providing them with flights for their adventure which will create cherished memories and leave a lasting impact on their lives.

The new partnership will help grant wishes for children like Anna and Mille from Denmark.

Anna has a passion for travel and experiencing new cultures and food, but her young life has been full of restrictions, firstly due to the pandemic and then her diagnosis of Hodgkin lymphoma when she was 17. Last year, Make-A-Wish surprised Anna and her mother with a trip to Paris which included a visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower and a three-course French meal, as well as a visit to the Louvre where they saw the famous Mona Lisa. Anna was blown away by this once-in-a-lifetime experience and particularly loved the delicious food.

Mille was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) in June 2023 at 17 years old and unfortunately the disease has progressed quickly. She had always wished to see one of the great musicals in the West End and her wish was granted when she travelled to London with her family to see performances of her favourite musicals Mamma Mia and The Lion King. Together they also enjoyed a tour of London on a sightseeing bus, a trip to Madame Tussauds, and an unforgettable view of the city from The London Eye.

Johan Lundgren, easyJet CEO said:

“We are incredibly proud to be supporting Make-A-Wish to grant the wishes of children across Europe. It’s a great privilege for us to be able to offer our network of over 1000 routes to fly children and families to a choice of hundreds of destinations, which we hope will go some small way in helping make wishes come true.”

Luciano Manzo, President and CEO of Make-A-Wish International said:

"We can't thank easyJet enough for their incredible support of the children and families we care for. When faced with a critical illness, many children dream of exploring new places, embarking on thrilling adventures, and creating cherished memories with their loved ones. Thanks to easyJet, we'll be able to make even more of these wishes come true all across Europe this year! Their generosity is helping us turn dreams into unforgettable experiences."
