easyJet, Official Airline of the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest, has teamed up with noughties pop band and iconic UK Eurovision entry Scooch to release a Eurovision-themed single, ahead of the competition’s Grand Final this weekend.

The brand new, original song ‘All Aboard the Orange Plane’ (The Eurovision Song) music video has already become a viral online hit, having been viewed over 14 million times already on social media. Written by Olivier award-winning comedian and songwriter Vikki Stone and performed by the original Scooch band members Natalie Powers, Russ Spencer, Caroline Barnes and David Ducasse, the inflight themed music video pays homage to the pop band’s aviation themed entry to the 2007 competition in Helsinki, ‘Flying the Flag’.

Now, in response to popular demand, and after receiving the attention of Radio 2 DJ Scott Mills, the airline is releasing the song on streaming services including Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer and tidal ahead of the Eurovision Grand Final in Malmö this weekend, and is set to go up against the likes of Sabrina Carpenter, Taylor Swift and Hozier, who currently sit at the top of the UK singles charts.

The song is available on streaming services from today.

Fans have been reacting to the original track across the country, and the verdict appears to be ‘douze points’, with listeners describing it as ‘joyful’.

Eurovision fan Andrew Gauld, who also travelled to Malmö for the live shows said “I’d love to see it performed on a Eurovision stage”.

The reactions came as fans disembarked a very special flight to the competition this week.

An easyJet plane full of superfans made its way to Copenhagen from Gatwick on Monday, and filled the skies with sequins and singalongs to celebrate easyJet’s role as the Official Airline Partner of the Eurovision Song Contest

It featured a dedicated themed baggage drop, fancy dress, and a sky-high talent show at 40,000 feet, hosted by Drag Race star Tia Kofi.

easyJet will donate the value of its estimated royalties to its partner UNICEF and contribute towards easyJet and UNICEF's ‘Every Child Can Fly’ campaign, which supports UNICEF's aspiration to achieve the universal right of quality education for all children by 2030. The donations will help raise vital funds to change millions of children’s lives, including contributing to UNICEF's target of providing access to learning opportunities for 114 million children and digital education for 148.6 million children around the world.

Michael Brown, Director of Cabin Services at easyJet commented:

“We couldn’t be prouder to be the Official Airline Partner for the Eurovision Song Contest and, like the show, play our part in bring people, countries and communities together. It’s been fantastic to celebrate this year’s competition with our customers and crew and to see this incredible response to our official Eurovision song. By releasing this new single today, not only will more people be able to enjoy celebrating with us, but every time they do they’ll be helping raise vital funds for UNICEF’s education programmes and help every child access their right to a quality education - and we’d like to thank everyone who listens for their support.”
